Hound Association of Scotland Open Show 2018 Critique

I would like to thank the club for inviting me again to judge. Thank you to everyone who entered and came along. Your support is appreciated.

Junior (1,0)

1st – Jackson – Killoeter Unique – BP
Attractive 9 month old bitch. Classic and elegant head, well set ears, correct pigment and dark eyes. Well angulated front, brisket will fill with age, chest deep enough at this moment, long ribbing, compact loin, well angulated hind quarters with drooping croup. Well off for bone and good feet. Moved well in profile, animated which I love to see! Babies should enjoy it.

Post Graduate (5,4)

1st – Donaldson – Eileanirgh King Whisperer
Masculine male, slightly lighter in eye, good ear set, aqualine nose, long elegant head with good pigment. Good layback of shoulder. Bladed bone and plenty of. Topline correct, good tuck up. Good wide 1st and 2nd thigh. Moved well in profile. Well handled.

Open (6,3)

1st – Robertson – Chuilinn Whisper – BOB
Feminine bitch of 6 years. Elegant head, good fill under eye, well set ears, dark pigment. Strong neck flowing into well laid shoulders of correct angles. Good length of upper arm. Deep ribcage, long ribbing with strong, deep loin. Good width between pin bones. Well angulated hindquarters, deep 1st and 2nd thigh, low hocks. In good firm condition. Dream to watch in profile, straight up and down. Well presented.
2nd – McKinnon – Almondbank Real Deal McNeil for Fingon
3 year old male, masculine and handsome, dark eyes, nice ear set. Correct layback of shoulder but would prefer a better angulated upper arm and slightly longer. Deep ribcage, slightly longer in loin than 1st. Well angulated hind quarters, good width of 2nd thigh. Coat lacking in places. Moved well in profile.
